Many parents are shocked by how difficult this stage is. There are so many ways birth can crack us wide open, mind, body and soul. It’s why postpartum healing is a critical time to gently “close” and put those pieces of ourselves back together. Some elements of a supported healing phase include:
Postpartum healing is a critical time for gently “closing” and putting those pieces of ourselves back together. Some new parents need help with meal preparation, others just need someone to hold the baby while they shower, nap or have a moment pour into themselves during the challenging adjustment of new parenthood.
Most families just need a helping hand as they transition out of family 2 to family with a newborn. You don’t have to go it alone. My in-home support packages are for local*, newly birthed families:
3 home visits: $450
6 home visits: $850
12 home visits: $1,700
You are a new being; freshly born right along with your baby. Many couples forget to think about what happens after baby arrives and can be very overwhelmed with life after birth. Prepare for the healing phase with a postpartum planning session. We’ll work together to develop your “welcome back” plan. Each plan is unique to you, but most include: a list of support people, plans for (delegating) meals, strategy for slow and steady physical movement and moments to tap back into YOU.
If you’d like to move forward after our alignment call—scroll up to schedule yours—0you will be sent the registration form. After these are completed and you’ve submitted payment, you’re officially booked. Look out for a welcome email from me and feel free to communicate with me if you have any questions or concerns.
Many folks confuse the term “postpartum” with postpartum mood disorders like postpartum depression, anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). When someone is “postpartum,” it simply means they are in the healing stage after birth and delivery of their baby and placenta.
Regardless of whether you have experienced a live birth, stillbirth or sudden loss, you are still postpartum. You need the physical, mental and emotional nourishment this phase calls for.
No. While I bring my valuable lived experiences as a mother of 2, childbirth educator training, knowledge from continuing education classes—and most importantly—my passion to serve new families to this work, I do not currently hold any certificates with a postpartum doula training organization.
I prepare one nutritious dish for each visit. If you’d like more than this, I will charge only for the groceries needed for said meal along with any requested light grocery shopping.
Yes, but…I am not a lactation consultant. I can offer basic guidance on the foundation of breastfeeding and tips to support a healthy start. However, I strongly recommend that you find a lactation professional that can support you with a deeper knowledge of breastfeeding. Its definitely worth every penny and is often reimbursable by most insurance companies!
No. For a 24 hour period, I offer (1) 4-hour visit. For example, I can’t provide two back-to-back visits totaling 8 hours. This ensures I’m coming into your space refreshed and ready to pour into YOU.
No, not at this time.
If I am ill, have an emergency, or am otherwise unable to make a scheduled visit, we will work to reschedule it as soon as possible.
I do not offer housekeeping services. While I’m happy to do light tidying up for new families, my primary role is to support the new parent as they rest, heal and bond.
