About Well Worth Watering

Meet Lou-Ann Wattley Belk

Welcome to the Well!

I’m Lou-Ann—Lou is what my loved ones call me. Like you, I wear many hats: wife, mother of 2 amazing children, certified childbirth educator and mentor, postpartum companion and aspiring lactation counselor.

Some folks say that birth has a way of cracking you wide open. That was certainly the case for me after my two very different births; the first an induced hospital birth, the second a planned home birth. Both experiences gifted me invaluable lessons. I continue to pull from these lessons and my faith and walk with Jesus Christ as I navigate life’s ebbs and flows.

I value love-affirming introspection in myself and others. I believe in creating space for the telling and holding of powerful stories, like those that were shared on my podcast. Along with my husband and children, I currently call Northern Virginia home.

What are some of the best but undernourished tools in childbirth preparation?

Self Compassion

Discernment

Courage

Growth
